Sunderland fans left confused after reporter ‘joked’ about next manager

Regarding the upcoming Sunderland manager, there is uncertainty as Will Still is still frequently mentioned.

Still, 31, is available after departing Reims at the beginning of May. For the previous six months, there have been rumours that he would be joining Sunderland for the summer.
After leaving the Ligue 1 team, Still has left a mysterious social media message thanking Reims for his time there, but concluding it with the words “see you very soon.”

While Still is finishing his UEFA Pro Licence course, talkSPORT reporter Andy Brassell has been claiming that Still will take over as head coach of the Black Cats.

In the northeast, Brassell claimed to have seen Still house-hunting. When Sunderland supporters connected the dots, the claim undoubtedly sparked a heated debate, but Brassell was forced to retract his remarks later.

The news was covered by other media outlets. After that, Brassell had to go to X to clarify that he had been making a joke out of what he had said and that he had not actually seen Still searching for a new place to live.

Based on what has been disclosed in the media thus far, it appears that he is no closer to joining Sunderland now than he was six months ago.

While Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman wait to appoint a new manager, it appears that Still is concentrating on completing his UEFA Pro Licence course.

Rene Maric, the youth coach for Bayern Munich, is another name that has been strongly linked to a summer transfer to the Stadium of Light. Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl, on the other hand, appears unlikely to depart after leading the Owls to safety on the last day of the season.
