Sutton responds to the Dermot Gallagher verdict, saying, “Give me strength.”

Chris Sutton has taken issue with Dermot Gallagher’s assessment of Celtic’s contentious loss to Hearts on the road last Sunday.

The former Premier League referee is featured by Sky Sports news every Monday morning to provide his analysis of the game’s key moments.

During the first forty-five minutes of Celtic’s match at Tynecastle, there were two penalties and a red card, which led Brendan Rodgers to question the match officials.
Hardly anyone was willing to argue that Don Robertson and John Beaton had made the right calls regarding the handball against Tomoki Iwata, which generated the most debate and discussion.

While co-commentating at Tynecastle for Sky Sports, Sutton expressed his dissatisfaction with the refereeing expert’s decision in the Daily Record.

I witnessed former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher complimenting the referees for their consistency in calling handballs in Scotland. Give me courage. Are we supposed to give them props for constantly getting them wrong? So I don’t blame Rodgers for being angry considering everything that happened.

FIFA’s Laws of the Game are globally applicable; member nations of FIFA are not permitted to interpret them differently.

The SFA has sent Rodgers a Notice of Complaint, and a guilty decision will result in at least a two-match touchline ban. The hearing is set for March 28.

Rodgers stated at his press conference yesterday that he would defend Celtic and himself against the Notice of Complaint and that he had no regrets about his remarks.
