The teenager’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he appears set to leave Celtic for a UEFA-agreed fee of £340,000 based on his time with the club.

Vata made four substitute appearances last season, but due to a contract dispute, he hasn’t been included in any matchday squads under Brendan Rodgers.

Vata’s agents have done an excellent job of keeping their client in the spotlight following his participation in the UEFA Youth League and for Ireland at the under-19 and under-21 levels.

Rocco Vata – An 11th hour opportunity to make it at Celtic
Football Scotland reports, with only a few weeks until the January transfer window opens:

Juventus and AS Monaco have joined a list of European heavyweights interested in taking Rocco Vata off Celtic’s hands.

The youngster, 18, has a list of potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window and possibly beyond that in summer should no deal be struck in that time. Football Scotland can reveal the two clubs have both scheduled talks with Vata’s representatives for the coming weeks as they seek a cut-price £340,000 deal in cross-border compensation.

Celtic could agree a transfer deal in January that gives them a percentage of a future fee and other add-ons, but any move will ultimately be determined by the player.

Kierney Tierney was the last Celtic Academy product to break into the first team in 2015.
