“The fans are rightfully disappointed”, Taylor reveals details about the diminishing Celtic leadership group.

Greg Taylor insists that Celtic’s new signings understand the importance of the club’s goal.
In most situations, winning eight and drawing twice out of ten matches would be a source of pride for a club and result in a significant increase in its standing.

But not at Celtic. Yesterday, the Hoops fell to second place in the SPFL Premiership; by the next game, they could be five points behind and the title slipping away.
Taylor was part of an exciting team two years ago that was on the verge of winning an unexpected title. The team was made up of impressive emerging talents as well as older heads, tried and tested players like Carl Starfelt, Josip Juranovic, and Giorgos Giakoumakis. Players who arrived at Celtic with years of experience already under their belt.

That group has dwindled down to a core of three, and taking on a leadership role on the park is becoming a burden, with more required and expected of what is now a group of three.
Taylor explained part of his role to the Daily Record:

When you have leaders like Callum McGregor, Joe Hart, and myself, they must (get it). It’s not just the new lads; everyone should understand.
It’s not a case of just boys coming in and boys who have already been here; everyone as a group must understand that this club demands success and a certain style of play. And when you don’t reach those heights, the fans are rightfully disappointed.
At this club, even a draw feels like a defeat. This is how it feels whenever you drop points.

Who is primarily to blame for Celtic’s disastrous season?
That’s exactly how it felt on Saturday, as the second half slipped away and the unavoidable happened: a stoppage-time equaliser.

With an unofficial club policy of signing players aged 24 and under, it’s difficult to predict how things will change in terms of finding leaders; Joe Hart’s contract expires in May.
Celtic have now dropped 10 points since the beginning of December; to win this season’s title, they may need to win all 12 of their remaining games.

In other news, Brendan Rodgers has previously described the £15 million player as ‘world class’, and he could be Celtic’s ideal free agent signing.
