The 21-year-old’s contract with the Glasgow giants is set to expire in June, and he has yet to agree to an extension despite ongoing contract talks with the club.
According to Football Insider, it appears “increasingly likely” that the Hoops will let him leave the club for free following a devastating injury.

Montgomery was loaned out to Motherwell last month for the rest of the season, but the club confirmed that he has returned to Glasgow after suffering a long-term injury in training.
He appeared once for the Steelmen, providing an assist in a 3-1 Scottish Cup win over Alloa Athletic on January 20.

The Scotsman spent the first half of the season with English League One club Fleetwood Town, but made only six appearances in all competitions.
Now, the left-back’s time with Brendan Rodgers appears to be over.

Montgomery has been loaned out on numerous occasions during his time at Parkhead, including a season-long stint at St Johnstone in 2022-23.
Celtic are just three points ahead of Rangers, who have a game in hand, following their 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on Saturday (3 February).

They next play Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday night (7 February).
