According to The Athletic, Celtic are among the clubs interested in signing Liverpool’s Owen Beck during the January transfer window.

Celtic, who won the Scottish Premiership last season and are managed by former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, are said to be interested in signing Beck on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old left-back from Liverpool spent the first half of the season on loan at Dundee. He has returned to his parent club.

Celtic wanted to sign Beck to “upgrade their competition at left-back,” but Beck “would have faced a fight to play so they were ruled out,” according to The Athletic. Beck did well during his time at Dundee, who described his performances as “fantastic” and admitted that he “will be greatly missed.”

According to The Athletic, Rangers manager Philippe Clement personally wants to sign the left-back in the January transfer window.

Coventry City, Stoke City, Millwall, and Hull City have all expressed interest in signing Beck on loan, but Liverpool have decided that he will be part of manager Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad due to injuries to Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson. Klopp thinks highly of him.

Owen Beck has a bright future, in my opinion.
Owen Beck’s future, in my opinion, is bright. The fact that he will play for Liverpool’s first team in the second half of the season demonstrates his talent.

Beck performed admirably during his loan spell at Dundee. In the Scottish Premiership, the left-back made 17 appearances. In those games, he had two goals and two assists.

Celtic and Rangers are both massive clubs, and their interest in Beck demonstrates how highly he is regarded in the footballing community.
