The South Korean international appeared 26 times last season and scored five goals before Adam Idah’s arrival curtailed his playing time, according to Transfermarkt.

Earlier this week, we reported that talks about Oh had already begun between Genk and Celtic, with the Belgian club reportedly eager to sign him.

More information about the many ramifications of a potential transfer has emerged, and it appears to be building momentum.

According to The Daily Record, Genk are targeting Oh in a deal for more than £3.5 million, which would be a significant increase from the £2.5 million Celtic paid for him in January 2023.

According to the media outlet, the Bhoys want to profit from their investment while also including add-ons in the purchase.

Genk is pleased to offer the former Suwon Bluewings player an opportunity to re-establish himself after falling down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers last season.

Crucially, Oh wants to work with their coach, Thorstein Fink, who has helped develop players like Son Heung-min during his stint in the dugout.

If the trade goes through, Celtic will have a vacant striker spot that can be filled by someone else, as well as some extra money to add to their recruitment budget.

Unfortunately, despite demonstrating his brilliance at Parkhead in spurts, it appears that the best option for both sides may be for Oh to relocate to the Cegeka Arena permanently.
