The total fee that Nottingham Forest have received for Orel Mangala
By removing another player from their roster, Nottingham Forest has increased their purchasing power.
The Reds have had a busy week due to the revelation of several transfer rumours.
First, it was reported that Moussa Niakhate was going to sign a contract with Lyon before the PSR deadline, and that announcement is anticipated to come soon.
Next, it was reported that Forest and Newcastle were about to work out a somewhat backroom arrangement.
Newcastle acquired Odysseas Vlachodimos from the Reds in exchange for Forest agreeing to a deal worth £35 million, spread over several years, for Elliot Anderson.
Brandon Aguilera officially signed with Rio Ave yesterday, according to Forest, and last night information about another transfer surfaced.
What Nottingham Forest will be paid for Orel Mangala
The midfield player, who joined Forest from Stuttgart in the summer of 2022, has shown to be a very valuable asset to the team.
The Reds player, who was excellent, went on loan to Lyon for the second half of the previous season, and it was always expected that the move would be permanent.
The good news is that Forest gained a substantial financial advantage with the Belgian player.
It is absolutely astounding to learn that Forest has recovered a total of £31 million for Mangala, according to L’Equipe!
Last season, Lyon paid Forest £11 million to loan them the player for a season, and now Forest has paid the £20 million option to acquire him permanently.
Additionally, it’s said that Forest has kept a 10% sell-on clause in case Lyon decides to move him on and try to make a quick profit on their own.
Mangala was adequate for Forest, if not spectacular.
The gifted athlete never fails to smile, and in a different era, Forest might have been able to defend holding onto Mangala for a little while longer.
Moving him on seemed like the right decision because, in the end, he was never going to be Nuno Espirito Santo’s first choice in a midfielder.
With Danilo, Nicolas Dominguez, Ryan Yates, Ibrahim Sangare, and now Anderson among their ranks, Forest has an abundance of midfield players at their disposal.
It makes perfect sense to pay Mangala this kind of money, and the team ought to be happy about it.
It appears that the PSR threshold has been reached for another year, and it’s wonderful to see Forest, for once, receiving competitive player fees from other teams.
