Things are simmering- Chris Sutton on the Celtic disconnect
Chris Sutton summed up the issues simmering just beneath the surface at Celtic in a single tweet.
In most cases, being at the top of the table with two wins out of two against your only significant rival would be cause for celebration.
“Strange position Celtic find themselves in. Top of the league but there is a sense that things are simmering within a section of the fan base. We know why. Celtic seemed to have a plan with recruitment under Ange. Now it seems really complicated… and it shouldn’t be!” chris said on twitter
Following the 1-0 victory over Ross County, Celtic Park was filled with anger and frustration after 90 minutes of scrapping home against a team that had lost 3-0 at home to Partick Thistle the previous week.
The reaction was almost universal, whether watching on Celtic TV or following the post-match reaction on social media. Brendan Rodgers, for example, suggested after the match that the moaning and complaining had been almost constant since he returned to Celtic.
Celtic’s next game is on Saturday in Aberdeen, with Sutton in attendance at Pittodrie.
The Dons are facing their own problems, with fans calling for Barry Robson’s dismissal after yesterday’s defeat at Hearts left them 19 points behind Edinburgh, who are third in the Premiership.
