A minute’s applause will be held at Coventry City FC’s match against Plymouth tonight to honour a special little fan. The whole city was left devastated at the news that Hallie Reeve passed away on Sunday (November 19).
Coventry City FC, which welcomed little Hallie along to a home game, will tonight stage a one minute’s applause in her honour, reports the BBC. The Sky Blues were among those who threw their weight behind the ‘Rally for Hallie’ appeal, which raised thousands for the little girl as she fought a rare, chronic blood cancer Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (JMML)
The minute’s applause will be held at the 17th minute, the date of her birth. Adam Reeve, Hallie’s uncle, told the BBC that the tribute will also be for those who tried to save his niece.
Mr Reeve said he received an incredible response to the idea, which he floated on social media, from both Coventry and Plymouth fans. It led to him receiving hundreds of messages.
Hallie’s dad, Jamie is set to be at the match at the Coventry Building Society Arena tonight (November 28). He and Hallie’s mum, Kim Wileman, shared touching tributes to their ‘hero’.
She captured the hearts of those in her home city, but also those of people across the world. Singer Tom Grennan threw his weight behind the fundraising campaign and wore a ‘Rally for Hallie’ T-shirt at a concert.
