Transfer journo drops £6m Gers transfer claim with Clement tipped to tie up deal
A transfer journalist provides an exciting update on Abdallah Sima as the Rangers’ hopes for a long-term agreement rise.
The Rangers lost players like Fashion Sakala, Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, and Antonio Colak in the summer of last year, only to have a motley crew of misfits take their place.
All of the forwards that joined Michael Beale’s team had been strong players at one point in their careers but were having form issues when they got to Ibrox.
Abdallah Sima was one player who virtually instantly made an impact and got things going. Rangers are hoping that he will give them encouragement to sign a long-term contract.
Abdallah Sima’s deal is going well for the Rangers
Loan agreements are typically more hit than miss, but the player and fans clicked right away.
The 22-year-old has the kind of work ethic required to succeed, and he has demonstrated that Rangers’ wide players ought to be scoring goals in those positions; there ought to be no more justifications.
With just a year remaining on his contract with the Premier League team and three seasons spent on loan from Brighton, it doesn’t appear that the south coast is where his future is.
Journalist Dean Jones made a positive statement to GiveMeSport, saying, “Rangers would be getting an unbelievable deal if they signed Sima for £6m.”
“He’s been a great fit for them, and I think a player with his calibre would fetch close to £20 million.”
“I think he’s a great watch; a few other Premier League clubs have had an eye on him in the past couple of years.”
“However, there appears to be hope that the Rangers will sign this deal for a very low price.”
Rangers have just one obstacle in their possible Sima transfer.
Sima has always made no secret of his love for the Rangers, and Philippe Clement is obviously a fan as well.
When asked about their future plans, loan players typically respond more tactfully, but Sima seems to know exactly what he wants to do:
Sincerely, I’m glad to be in Glasgow at the moment and to be sporting this unique shirt. I think that’s a great team.
“I mentioned that it was a club I really liked in my first interview.
“Everything I need to be happy is there.”
“I’m glad to be here, and hopefully we can find some information from this.
“I’m glad to be here and supporting the team right now.”
When they are playing well and in form, football players are usually happy, and Sima, who has struggled the past two seasons, has finally found a place where he can play his best.
When he is unavailable, the quality suffers an almost excruciating decline.
Even at £6 million, Abdallah Sima has the ability to bring in money for Rangers.
With 16 goals in 38 games, there’s a good probability he could have scored nearly 25 if he hadn’t missed more than three months of the campaign.
The only apparent obstacle to a possible transfer appears to be the cost, and it would be a move that would reassure supporters ahead of what might be a busy summer.
