“Transfer Shock: Wolves Eye Rome Star Aoura at Unbelievable ‘Reduced Price’!”
Wolverhampton Wanderers may sign Houssem Aouar, a highly-regarded playmaker from Roma, during the summer transfer season to strengthen their midfield.
Over the previous year, the maestro has struggled to establish himself in the Roma squad, with only nine starts and seven substitute appearances in Serie A, despite scoring four goals. According to Algerien Foot’s website, a Premier League club is interested in signing him.
Aouar Could Join Wolves in the Summer Window
The midfielder has not had the best year in Italy.
According to reports, despite only joining Roma a year ago, Aouar might soon join the Premier League. Wolves and Brighton are interested in signing him in the coming weeks.
The midfielder struggled to break into the Roma team last season, ahead of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bryan Cristante, and Leandro Paredes. As a result, he could be on his way to the Premier League, where the duo have expressed interest.
The Algerian international possesses technical qualities that neither club has in abundance, and he is apparently available at a reduced rate, making him a wise addition to either club’s roster in the coming weeks. A transfer to Qatar has also been discussed, but the 26-year-old would not travel to the Middle East, leaving Wolves and Brighton open to offers.
Houssem Aouar had tremendous potential as a teenager.
The Lyon prodigy was among the most sought-after European stars.
Aouar was a top talent at Lyon, making his first-team debut at the age of 18. He was nominated for the Golden Boy award after his second season at the Groupama Stadium.
After 41 goals in 233 appearances for his local club, he signed a five-year contract with Roma last summer. However, despite scoring four goals in 16 games, he has struggled to get into the first-team due to minor ailments and a lack of consistency.
Aouar’s switch to Algeria for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations means he now has regular international experience, which might be valuable for Wolves. He could potentially pair up with fellow Algerian Rayan Ait-Nouri at Molineux.
Aouar was formerly linked with Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool as a kid. However, he has struggled to win silverware at Lyon and Roma under Jose Mourinho and Daniele De Rossi.
Wolves still need to replace midfielders Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves, and Joao Moutinho, who left last summer. The trio were fantastic for Wolves in the long run, particularly Neves, and while Joao Gomes was brought in over the summer, there is still a lack of inventiveness, which contributed to Wolves being one of the lowest-scoring teams in the division last season.
Pep Guardiola lauded Aouar as a young player, calling him ‘amazing’.
“Houssem Aouar is an excellent player. He is great. We talk a lot about (Tanguy) Ndombele, but Aouar is equally impressive. He’s always cool with the ball at his feet and has superb technical skills.”
