‘Unbelievable’… Adam Idah can’t believe what the Celtic fans have done since he signed on loan.
Adam Idah, Celtic’s new signing, has revealed that the fans have blown him away since joining on loan from Norwich City.
The 22-year-old striker has had a fantastic start to his Celtic career, instantly endearing himself to the Hoops fans with two coolly taken penalties against Hibs this month.
Idah opened up about his time at Celtic, saying the reception he has received from the fans since moving to Glasgow is unlike anything he has ever experienced in his career.
Idah said [The Official Celtic FC Podcast], “I haven’t been out much, but when I have, the fans have been great. And I’ve stated in previous interviews that, like on social media, every single message I’ve received has been unbelievable.
“I’ve never really gotten up before. You hear about players receiving negative feedback, but I have yet to receive a single negative message.
“To be fair to all the fans, they’ve been fantastic with me. I just want to play in Celtic Park in front of them.”
While the move was met with a lukewarm reception by the fans, the majority of the apathy surrounding Idah’s transfer was due to dissatisfaction with the club’s transfer business rather than the player himself.
Celtic fans expected more signings than the two they received, given that Brendan Rodgers had done nothing but talk about adding quality players during the winter transfer window.
Although Idah’s Celtic career is still in its early stages, the Republic of Ireland striker has already demonstrated some promise, suggesting that Rodgers may have made an inspired decision in signing him.
Idah decides whether or not to make this move permanent. He’s clearly enjoying his time in Paradise, and if he can score the goals that propel Celtic to the title, Rodgers will find it difficult to send him back to Norwich.
