The story of the Cleveland Browns season has yet to be written in its entirety, but we know it will include not only chapters about injuries, but injuries woven throughout the entire book.

Despite losses all around the team and playing four quarterbacks, the Browns have managed to post a 9-5 record. Cleveland continues to struggle with injuries and turnovers, but enters Week 16 with a strong chance of making the NFL playoffs.

Buffalo Bills at Jets: Aaron Rodgers departs game due to injury

With the news that QBs CJ Stroud and Aaron Rodgers are unlikely to play against Cleveland, things may have gotten a little easier for the Browns in the last few games.

Stroud missed last week’s game due to a concussion and hasn’t made enough progress to convince the Houston Texans that he’ll be able to play this week:

“He should miss another game,” one source said Tuesday, adding that the Texans will keep an eye on Stroud’s progress before making a decision.

Following the Texans, Week 17 was supposed to be a huge Thursday Night Football matchup between Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, on the other hand, has stated unequivocally that he will not return now that the New York Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention. With Zach Wilson’s concussion, it’s unclear who will start for the Jets against Joe Flacco.

While injuries have plagued the Browns all season, facing backup quarterbacks in the final three games should make their playoff push much easier.
