Watch the incredible Callum McGregor moment that sent Celtic Park wild!

Almost on the stroke of half time against Dundee on February 28 Callum McGregor put Celtic 6-0 with the players roared off at half-time by fans delighted to see their side back cutting opponents wide open. And scoring goals.

Daniel Kelly scored Celtic’s seventh goal in the second half, replacing the captain who never returned. However, this marked the beginning of a concerning period for McGregor, who has been a mainstay in the Celtic midfield for the previous six seasons.

He didn’t play to his full potential when he came off the bench at Ibrox on April 7, but his mindset and mentality were there.

Following two cameos, McGregor started the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts but was replaced by Tomoki Iwata in the second half. This same situation happened last week at Dundee, with some supporters questioning whether McGregor ought to start.

The debate was over halfway through the second half of the victory over Hearts!

Although he doesn’t tow a caravan, Kenneth Vargas raced half the length of the park to catch up to McGregor and challenge Celtic’s two-goal lead.

McGregor had the option to receive a booking, accept a point for the team, follow the rules, challenge himself, and then stop the Hearts break with a precise tackle.

In addition, the Celtic captain, who was grounded, managed to steal the rebound from Cammy Devlin, two players who were considerably younger than McGregor but still had a lot to learn about winning.

The players on the pitch were fed by those challenges, which the fans adored and which offered them new life.

Hearts were forced to retreat as Celtic maintained the upper hand. Upon making the substitutions, Iwata took Reo Hatate’s place.

It was time for McGregor to go after Matt O’Riley scored Celtic’s third from the penalty spot. Another Red Letter Day in his illustrious career is quickly approaching on Saturday of next week.
