“Watford Star’s Stunning Comeback Sparks Transfer Fears—Will He Stay or Go?”
Imran Louza has transformed into a vital piece of Watford’s playoff push, but questions about his long-term future remain.

The 25-year-old midfielder’s career at Vicarage Road seemed uncertain when he was loaned to Lorient in January 2024. However, since returning, he has flourished under Tom Cleverley, even earning the captain’s armband earlier this month.
Louza has featured in 21 matches this season, starting each of Watford’s last five games while excelling in a newly assigned deeper midfield role. His evolution into a key player has led to growing speculation about whether he will remain at the club next season.

Will Louza Stay at Watford?
Watford fan pundit Justin Beattie shared his thoughts on Louza’s resurgence, expressing his hope that the midfielder remains beyond this season.
“I would like to think Imran Louza will be a Watford player next season,” Beattie told Football League World.
“I think his contributions this year have been fantastic. Moving him to the sweeper role in front of the defense has helped improve his game. He’s been the player we always hoped he would be.

“Obviously, that is going to create interest from other clubs, but I don’t want him to leave if he’s going to carry on playing the way he’s playing. I’d very much rather see him stay.
“Would I have said that this time last season? No, I think I would’ve been pleased to see him leave. But I think this renaissance of Imran Louza has been wonderful, and I’d very much like to see him stay.”
Watford currently sits ninth in the Championship, just three points off the playoff places after 34 games.
Louza’s Role Change Could Secure His Future
Given that Louza is under contract until 2028, Watford faced a dilemma when he struggled for minutes. However, both he and Cleverley deserve credit for redefining his role to make him a key figure in the squad.
The Hornets have now won back-to-back games and remain firmly in the playoff mix, with Louza’s contributions proving crucial. Regardless of how the season ends, Watford will likely do everything in their power to keep him at Vicarage Road. But with his standout performances, rival clubs may be circling—will Watford be able to hold onto their midfield star?
