Famous darts pundit Wayne Mardle incurred the wrath of Scottish football fans yesterday after providing an over-the-top response to a question about Celtic and Rangers.

Wayne Mardle is in hot water after a question about Celtic vs. Rangers.

The Sky Sports darts player was asked on Twitter, “Celtic or Rangers Wayne?” Instead of responding, he went on an expletive-laden rant about the state of the Scottish Premiership:

“I’ve absolutely no interest in sub-standard amateur football. It’s absolute p***.”

“To be fair it’s more the league we play in that’s the problem, certainly in the case of Celtic.”

“If we played in the Premier League, within a few years – if we spent the right money – we would be a top ten team who would be pushing for top six.”

Fans attempted to persuade the former darts player that “to be fair, it’s more the league we play in that’s the issue, certainly in the case of Celtic.”

Mardle, on the other hand, doubled down on his position and went even further in his criticism of Scottish football.

“I literally couldn’t care less. You don’t have to explain why the league is so s***.”

“It’s always been s*** and will forever be s***. It’s s***. Get over how sh** it really is.”

Mardle quickly realised his error in judgement and apologised for any offence caused.

“I’m sorry for my remarks regarding Scottish football,” Mardle tweeted.

“I genuinely didn’t mean to cause offence but understand I may have done so, and for that, I apologise.”
