“We Have Rules” – Norwich discipline Adam Idah for going AWOL as Celtic named as factor behind striker missing flight
After a successful loan last season, the striker has remained a Celtic target this summer.
Angry Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup admits Adam Idah will face disciplinary action after missing a pre-season flight to Germany.
And the Canaries manager reckons speculation about a move to Celtic was a factor in Idah missing the friendly against Hoffenheim. The Ireland international was a standout for the Premiership champions during his loan spell last season, and Brendan Rodgers is eager to bring him back for the new season. According to reports, Idah’s future would be decided after the game, with the frontman left on the sidelines while Celtic negotiated a deal.
Latest on Idah here after Thorup confirms he will be disciplined internally for failing to meet up with the group for their flight to Austria.

Following the game, the manager confirmed Idah would be disciplined internally for failing to fly out with the rest of the squad. He told the assembled press, “We have rules, and everyone has to stick to them.” The Scottish champions’ interest was noted to have been “probably a factor” in missing the flight. He also stated that Idah would be unable to play in the game due to the disciplinary issue.
