The reasons why West Ham are the favourites to sign an in-demand Manchester United player have been exposed, and rumors suggest the Red Devils will cash in for the appropriate price.

The exits at Old Trafford are coming thick and fast this season. Raphael Varane, Brandon Williams, and Anthony Martial have all left through free agency. Donny van de Beek was the first to join Spanish club Girona through a formal transfer.

Willy Kambwala (Villarreal) and Mason Greenwood (Marseille) have agreed to sell. The Manchester Evening News reports that four more first-team players are on the verge of being released.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a right-back in his final year of contract, was among the four players picked.

In January, Manchester United exercised their option to extend Wan-Bissaka’s contract for the 2024/25 season.

As a result, Manchester United no longer have the safety net of the club option, and a sale while they can still command a reasonable fee is being considered.

Wan-Bissaka appeared on 30 occasions in all competitions last season. However, the 26-year-old only made that many appearances because of the club’s devastating injury crisis.

Diogo Dalot is Erik ten Hag’s undisputed first choice at right back. During the injury absences of left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, Ten Hag either fielded Dalot at left-back and Wan-Bissaka at right-back or vice versa for the most of the season.

With the injury difficulties hopefully resolved and Fabrizio Romano admitting that Manchester United want a new left-back, Wan-Bissaka’s time appears to be up.

Why West Ham are favourites and the projected transfer fee

Galatasaray, a Turkish club, is showing serious interest in the defensive-minded fullback. Everton have also been linked.

Wan-Bissaka’s desire to return to London is a key reason in West Ham’s success, as reported.

According to Caught Offside, Wan-Bissaka wants to join West Ham. According to reports, the Hammers are also interested in signing Wan-Bissaka.

Right-back Ben Johnson has joined Ipswich Town on a free transfer, leaving 31-year-old Vladimír Coufal as the right-back under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Julen Lopetegui will make Nayef Aguerd decision at West Ham United following transfer news.

Wan-Bissaka, who is in the final year of his Man Utd contract, is expected to play a key role in Lopetegui’s starting lineup. However, Man Utd may consider selling Wan-Bissaka for £17m-£20m, resulting in a significant loss on the £50m they paid Crystal Palace to sign him in 2019.
