‘What a find’: Joe Cole says Nottingham Forest have pulled off an absolute bargain
Joe Cole full of praise for Murillo in Nottingham Forest win.
Murillo at the back needed to be playing at his best because Brighton was still producing opportunities and Forest was comparatively comfortable in the game. This was especially true after Murillo disappointed Espirito Santo against Bournemouth.
Cole praised the Brazilian on TNT Sports’ analysis after he thankfully returned to his best against Brighton.
Cole said: “[Murillo is] Brilliantly Brazilian. There’s been a lineage of Brazilian centre-halves we’ve seen over recent years like Thiago Silva. Again, what a find, what a player he’s [Murillo] been. You can see, from talking to Nottingham Forest fans, they absolutely love him.”
Cole’s remarks demonstrated that the Brazilian has captured the interest of the larger football community, and Murillo’s January signing of a new contract at Forest was maybe more significant than any new player could possibly be.
Forest is requesting a world-record price for Murillo because of this interest, which seems possible considering his statistics versus Brighton.
