What’s happening here at Celtic Park on the Main Stand roof?

Now that the gloomy international break has ended, it’s time to focus on watching Celtic play, which begins this weekend when Hearts visit Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon for an unusual 3pm kickoff.

While the Rangers were soundly defeated in the Glasgow Derby, Celtic enters the match eager to finish as soon as possible in order to prepare for the Champions League, which opens next week at Paradise with a visit from Slovan Bratislava.

The match officials for this Saturday’s Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Hearts were announced by the Scottish FA this morning. Calum Spence and Frank Connor will support Colin Steven, who will be the guy with the whistle. The VAR operation will be overseen by Alan Muir, with assistance from Graham McNeillie.

While attending the Luke McCowan media conference at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon, I happened to notice that there was construction going on above the main stand. Does anyone know if the TV cameras that are part of the disco lights are connected to the VAR system? They go straight from one corner flag to the other across the main stand. It might not be related, but one of the groundsmen had a plastic box labelled VAR lite spares.

Here is the Luke McCowan fan media conference, where the new addition provides The Celtic Star with details about what transpired on deadline day and his eventual realisation that he would be joining Celtic.
