The date and location of the Rangers’ upcoming AGM have been confirmed, as fans and shareholders prepare to question the board.

Given what has occurred since last year’s event, this year’s annual general meeting will undoubtedly be filled with fireworks.

Rangers were once again unable to defeat archrivals Celtic in the Premiership title race, as the latter pulled away in the final stages of last season.

However, fans and shareholders will be more concerned with current issues, most notably Rangers’ eight-point deficit in the top flight to Celtic and Aberdeen.

The team also failed to qualify for the Champions League league phase during the period when Rangers were unable to play at Ibrox due to delayed Copland Road Stand construction work.

Furthermore, the club’s financial accounts were recently published, and they showed losses of more than £17 million for the fiscal year ending June 2024.

Not to mention the lack of continuity in key positions following the departures of John Bennett as chairman and James Bisgrove as CEO.

John Gilligan is currently serving as interim chairman, while Creag Robertson, director of football operations, is also set to leave the club.

Shareholders will be loaded with ammunition, with serious questions about how fortunes can change dramatically at Ibrox.
