Celtic F.C
“You will be taken aback” Peter Grant selects the surprising front three that Celtic ought to play.
Celtic’s struggles domestically have been well highlighted on this site and in the press recently.
Given that the team is having trouble breaking through resilient defences, Brendan Rodgers needs to devise a game plan that will enable his team to eliminate opponents early on.
This season, we have witnessed Celtic take the lead far too often and then fail to put them to the test, as well as on numerous other occasions when they failed to score at all.
What then is the solution to this peculiar issue? Peter Grant believes he has the answer, and you may be surprised.
The new role that Adam Idah has at Celtic
The former Celtics hero wants Kyogo Furuhashi to play in his ideal position through the middle, but what really got my attention was Grant’s desire for Aaron Rodgers to portray Adam Idah.
Grant said, “You’re going to be surprised with my team,” on The Go Radio Football Show.
“I would choose McGregor, Iwata, and O’Riley. It should be interesting to watch the first three.
It’s what I’d play as a front three. Maeda down the right, please. Go Idah enters as a second striker from the left, and Kyogo passes through the middle.Given that Idah has played for Norwich off the left side, I’d like to see him there. Instead of playing outside-left or on the touchline, the player will be a second striker, running inside the fullback.Given that Idah has played for Norwich off the left side, I’d like to see him there. Playing inside the fullback, running inside, and serving as a second striker is preferable to playing outside-left or on the touchline.
“Because, in my opinion, you need to look at something different and the wide players we have haven’t shown enough quality.”
Idah is adaptable and capable of filling that role, but the issue is that in his 172 career games, he has only made 10 appearances on the left wing and 2 as a second striker. [Transfermarkt]
This is not the time to implement these novel and unproven strategies. Even though we aren’t playing at our best right now, Rodgers needs to play his best team at all times for the business end of the season. It could be a big mistake to try a new position for a young player at this crucial point in the season.
